I have been working at Payt for over a year and a half now. I had to look up when I started because it feels like I’ve been here for years. This also means I started in the middle of the corona period. I was quite apprehensive about that.
The internet is full of horror stories about new employees who never see anyone or really fit into the team after starting during corona. Nothing could be further from the truth for me. I was warmly welcomed, as well as possible with the guidelines in place at the time. And now that we are all regularly in the office again, it feels like it has always been this way.
One of the best things about working at Payt is how quickly the features you build reach the customer. For instance, a customer recently missed a certain field in the API, and it was fantastic to be able to report back that this field would be available within a day. And sometimes, more directly, I can make my support colleagues’ lives easier with a day’s work by adding a button somewhere or caching a specific set of data. These relatively small features come in between the large, long-term projects. This variety is one of the many things that make me expect to write another blog post for our next anniversary.
