Henk van der Laan has been a customer from the very beginning. With his company Martini Reclamemakers, he has been using Payt since early 2014. Initially, it was only for the collection process. When Payt was also able to automate the accounts receivable management of his organization, Henk was quick to adopt it. Because although he is a true entrepreneur, good at his craft, and can sell his products and services well, the administration remains a burden. “It always got neglected. I would send an invoice, forget to send a reminder, and then Payt would automatically pick up the collection process after a certain number of days. You can imagine that it didn’t always go smoothly,” he laughs.

Doing What You’re Good At

With his advertising production company, Van der Laan is known in the business communities of Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe as the company for facade advertising and signage to vehicle lettering. With a team of seven, they work on various projects for organizations throughout Northern Netherlands. “But we’re also starting to gain a foothold in other parts of the country and even across the border,” Henk says. “For example, we recently became a preferred supplier for Best Western Hotels.” This makes Henk a textbook example of the saying that as an entrepreneur, you should do what you’re good at and leave the rest to others.

Automated Accounts Receivable Management a Pleasure

“Payt’s accounts receivable management is truly a pleasure; I am so satisfied and happy with it. The only thing I have to do is send my invoices. The rest – reminding the customer of the outstanding invoice and processing the payment in my administration – happens automatically.” Once a month, the entrepreneur checks how things are going. “If I see that an invoice is still open, it’s usually because some information is missing. In rare cases, a customer disagrees with the invoice, hasn’t received it, or has questions about it. Because customers can easily add a comment to their invoice, you can see such things immediately in Payt. In such cases, I contact my customer directly to resolve the issue.”

Peace and Financial Overview

Although he has been using Payt since 2014, Van der Laan’s customers notice little of it – apart from the structured and accurate process. The reminders are fully designed in the house style of Martini Reclamemakers, and if there are questions about the invoicing, they simply contact Van der Laan. “On the other hand, I definitely notice a difference,” Henk says. “For instance, my invoices are paid much faster. Partly due to the integration with iDEAL, the payment convenience for my customers has significantly improved. Additionally, as an entrepreneur, I have much more financial insight and overview. When I hear fellow entrepreneurs complain about their administration, I always recommend Payt. Since using the software, I can fully focus on my business and ongoing projects and no longer have to worry about my accounts receivable management. The peace of mind that brings is something I wish for every entrepreneur.”
