Funky Elephant is an initiative by MCPR, an Amsterdam-based communications agency. On 10 November, the agency will organise an auction and a lottery to raise funds for the rescue of two elephants, Mon-Ta and Fai Kham. These elephants have suffered lifelong physical and psychological abuse and have been kept in chains since they were young. Captured as baby elephants, they were raised in violent captivity and are now forced to entertain tourists daily.

Four Tickets for FC Groningen – Ajax

The auction, organised in collaboration with the foundation Vrienden Van De Olifant, aims to secure the elephants’ release and relocate them to a sanctuary where they can live out the rest of their lives in a safe environment. Payt is contributing to this cause by donating four tickets for the FC Groningen – Ajax match on 1 April 2018. Visitors attending the event will have the opportunity to bid on these tickets, with all proceeds going directly to Funky Elephant.

Funky Lion

This is not the first auction organised by MCPR. Last year, proceeds from the Funky Lion auction funded the release of three former circus lions into a sanctuary. This was a remarkable achievement, and we sincerely hope to achieve the same success in securing a new home for Mon-Ta and Fai Kham.
